Fred Burgess, Esq. earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida where he studied Advertising and Marketing. In 1989, he was awarded a Juris Doctor degree from Widener University School of Law, Wilmington, Delaware. Mr. Burgess has been a practicing attorney since 1989 and has practiced law in Florida since 2002.
Mr. Burgess is an accredited Continuing Legal Education provider and has lectured attorneys throughout the country regarding negotiation strategies and techniques. A frequent speaker at various real estate investor associations and civic organizations, Mr. Burgess speaks on various issues such as negotiating liens and judgments on properties, title issues, land trusts, and various other concerns. Mr. Burgess is a founding member and Past Chairman of the Weston Business Chamber; a past director of The Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce; a founding member of The Broward Professional Alliance; and a volunteer for Junior Achievement of South Florida. Recently, Mr. Burgess was appointed by the Commissioners of the City of Weston to serve on a committee to recommend amendments to the current Business Use Tax structure in The City of Weston.
Mr. Burgess is also the owner of Southeast Title & Trust, P.A., located in Weston, Florida, and a licensed mortgage broker associate. Fred lives in Weston with his wife Stacy, his sons Evan and Shayne.
Joseph B. Heimovics, Esq. is a partner in the law firm of Graner & Heimovics, P.A., which has its principal office in Boca Raton and is “of counsel” to the Burgess Law Firm, P.A. in Weston. Joe focuses his practice on commercial litigation, with an emphasis in the areas of business, real estate and construction law. His clients include individuals and businesses, and represents both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal court. He has successfully represented clients in both general and complex commercial matters, has experience negotiating multi-million dollar transactions, and has represented the prevailing party in more than ten appeals. Joe is licensed to practice law in both Florida and Georgia, being an active member of both the Florida Bar and the State Bar of Georgia. He also is admitted to practice before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeal, the Southern District in Florida and the Northern District of Georgia. Joe has prior judicial law clerk experience, having served a one-year judicial clerkship with Justice Paula A. Nakayama on the Hawaii Supreme Court. He is the past president and current board member of the Broward Professional Alliance, Inc., and also serves on the Board of Advisors for the Center for Urologic Research, Education and Diseases (CURED), which is the private philanthropic research arm of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Department of Urology.
